In 2017, NCIL celebrated its 35th Anniversary. Over the past three decades, NCIL has grown from a handful of advocates and the Centers they represent into a force of thousands of people with disabilities from Centers for Independent Living (CILs) and Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs) in every state and territory of the U.S.
Selene Luna was proud to share the stage along with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and over a dozen speakers who got the crowd revved up to meet with their legislators.
Selene Luna met with legislators on Capitol Hill to advocate on behalf of Southern California Resource Services for Independent Living (SCRS-IL), a cross-disability, non-residential, disability rights organization empowering people with any disability to live full and independent lives.
